KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: The General Traffic Department has announced the complete closure of a section of Arabian Gulf Street to facilitate road maintenance works. The closure will be in effect from Thursday, February 5, at 6:00 pm until Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 6:00 am.
According to the department, the closure will extend from the intersection of the National Assembly with Arabian Gulf Street up to the Darwazat Al-Maqsab intersection, affecting traffic near several key landmarks, including the Kuwait National Assembly, the Palace of Justice, Al-Bahhar Heritage Village, Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah (Americani Cultural Centre), and the Church of the Holy Family. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes and follow traffic instructions during the closure period to avoid congestion.
Also, the General Traffic Department has announced the complete closure of Al-Taawon Street for traffic coming from Jassim Mohammed Al-Kharafi Road (Sixth Ring Road) and Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud Road (Fahaheel Road). The closure will extend up to the intersection with Ali Thunayyan Al-Uthaina Street towards Al-Bidaa Roundabout to allow for necessary road maintenance.
The closure will be in effect from Thursday, February 5, at 5:00 PM until Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 12:00 AM. Authorities have urged motorists to follow alternative routes and adhere to traffic instructions during the maintenance period. Key areas affected include Mishref, Sabah Al Salem, and nearby streets such as the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Streets, as well as major landmarks like Messilah Beach, Mishref Oasis, and Al Taawon Street commercial areas.
