Arab Tennis Veterans Championship concludes with Sheikh Al-Jaber in attendance

CAIRO, June 13: The sixth edition of the Arab Tennis Veterans Championship came to a close in Sharm El Sheikh, organized by the Arab Tennis Federation on the courts of the Red Sea resort city, under the sponsorship of Kuwait Airways and in cooperation with the Egyptian Tennis Federation. The event featured wide Arab participation and a strong competitive atmosphere throughout.

The closing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Arab Tennis Federation, alongside Secretary-General Ali Lafi Al-Mutairi, representatives of the Public Authority for Sport, officials from the Arab and Egyptian tennis federations, as well as several sports figures and participating delegations.

Kuwait enjoyed a standout campaign, finishing with 11 trophies. The highlight came from Fahd Al-Haddad and Yacoub Al-Foudari, who won the over-35 doubles title. Star performer Ahmed Dashti also secured a triple crown, claiming titles in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

Further Kuwaiti success came through Adel Safar and Mohammed Bin Naji in the over-55 category, while Hassan Al-Yousifi and Safar added another title in the over-65 doubles. Al-Yousifi also received the Fair Play Player award.

In his remarks at the closing ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber praised the Egyptian Tennis Federation for its efforts in delivering a successful tournament, noting that the event’s organization earned praise from all participating delegations.

He highlighted that Sharm el-Sheikh once again proved its ability to host major Arab sporting events, supported by strong infrastructure and a vibrant competitive environment from start to finish.

Sheikh Al-Jaber also thanked the Public Authority for Sport for its attendance and commended Kuwait Airways for its continued sponsorship and support of Arab Tennis Federation events, which have helped elevate the tournament’s technical, organizational, and media standards.

He further announced that the next edition of the championship will be hosted in Jordan, with enhanced prizes expected to boost participation and competitiveness among Arab players.
