Arab showdown: Al-Nassr take on Al-Duhail in Asian Champs League

DOHA, Oct 23: The third round of the AFC Champions League group stage sees Arab teams dominating the competitions. Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia will go head-to-head with Al-Duhail of Qatar in Group Five.

In Group One, Al-Ain from the United Arab Emirates will host their Saudi counterparts, Al-Fayhaa. This group will also feature a clash between Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor and Turkmenistan’s representative. Additionally, Group Five will witness a match between Iran’s Persepolis and Tajikistan’s Esteghlal Dushanbe.

Al-Nassr Saudi Arabia aim to strengthen their position at the top of the group as they face Al-Duhail of Qatar at Awal Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Al-Nassr currently lead the group with a perfect 6-point record, having defeated Persepolis of Iran 2-0 away and Esteghlal Dushanbe 3-1.
On the other hand, Al-Duhail are in pursuit of their first victory in the competition. They previously had a 0-0 draw against Esteghlal Dushanbe and suffered a 0-1 loss to Persepolis.

Al-Ain seek to widen the gap between them and their closest competitors at the summit of Group A. They face their Saudi counterparts, Al Fayhaa, in the third round of the competition. Al-Ain are currently leading the group with a flawless 6-point record after defeating Pakhtakor 3-0 and Ahal 4-2.

Al-Fayhaa, on the other hand, are striving to continue their resurgence. They recently secured a victory over Pakhtakor, winning 2-0 in the second round after a loss to Ahal in the first round, where the score was 0-1.
