KUWAIT CITY, Mar 12: The Arab Parliament has welcomed the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemns the recent Iranian attacks targeting the territories of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan, describing it as a clear international stance against actions that threaten the sovereignty and security of Arab states.
In a statement, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, said that targeting civilian facilities and residential areas is a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, posing a serious threat to regional and global peace and security. He emphasized that the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Arab states are non-negotiable red lines.
Al-Yamahi reiterated the Parliament’s full solidarity with the affected Arab countries, supporting all measures they take to safeguard their security, stability, and sovereignty in line with international law. He called on the international community to maintain a firm stance against such attacks and to prevent actions that could destabilize the region.
He added that the UN resolution is an important step toward reinforcing regional security and stability, sending a clear message that the international community rejects hostile acts targeting Arab nations or endangering their populations.
