CAIRO, March 8, 2026 — The Arab League has strongly condemned the renewed Iranian attacks targeting civilians and vital facilities across the Gulf region, describing the escalation as “reckless and unjustified” and urging Tehran to immediately halt its aggression.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that Iran’s strikes against critical infrastructure and civilian areas amount to aggression against nations not involved in the conflict, warning that such actions further endanger regional stability.
Aboul Gheit stressed that these attacks represent “a desperate strategy” that will only serve to deepen hostility and resentment among Gulf states, adding that the Arab League is closely monitoring the developments linked to the Iranian escalation.
He reiterated that targeting civilian areas and infrastructure violates international norms and threatens the safety and security of the entire region, calling on Iran to reconsider its approach before the situation deteriorates further.
