KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: As part of the Criminal Security Sector’s ongoing efforts to combat crime and safeguard both public and private property, the General Department of Criminal Investigation—through the Hawalli Governorate Investigation Department—has arrested an individual involved in stealing pickup trucks from dirt lots across multiple areas.
The arrest followed a series of reports regarding vehicles stolen from open parking areas. Investigation teams launched extensive field surveillance and monitoring operations, ultimately identifying and apprehending the primary suspect, who is of Arab nationality.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to stealing several vehicles, dismantling them, and selling the aluminum and spare parts. He admitted to using counterfeit keys or forcibly breaking the doors, depending on the vehicle model. He also led authorities to a remote desert site where he had been hiding the stolen vehicles.
Several stolen vehicles were recovered at the location, including some that had been officially reported and others for which no report had yet been filed at the time of his arrest. Authorities confirmed that the suspect is linked to 13 cases involving vehicle theft and the theft of vehicle contents.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the suspect has a prior criminal record and that all necessary legal procedures have been taken. He has been referred to the competent authorities. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing and apprehending anyone who targets personal or public property or attempts to undermine the security of society, in order to ensure the safety of all citizens and residents.
