KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10: An Arab expatriate died when the roof and a wall of a house in Egaila area collapsed on him. When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the incident, firefighters rushed to the location with securitymen and paramedics. They retrieved the corpse from the debris and referred it to the Forensics Department. A case was registered and investigations have been launched.

Road accidents kills 1: An Asian expatriate died when a vehicle hit him while he was crossing Sixth Ring Road. According to security sources, the driver of the vehicle is a 19- year old Kuwaiti youth who was arrested. When questioned, he revealed that he was unable to avoid the victim when the latter was crossing the road. The corpse of the victim was referred to the Forensics Department and a case was registered. The suspect was referred to concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.

Corpse fished out: Officers from the Marine Rescue Center lifted the corpse of an unknown person which sea goers had seen floating at sea in Mangaf area. The officers went to the scene they received a distress call about the incident and removed the remains to Forensics for autopsy to determine his identity and circumstances surrounding his death.

2.5 kg drugs found: For the sixth time, customs officers at Abdali border entry have found 2.5 kg of hashish around the inspection area. Investigation has since been opened to determine the source of the illicit substance or the person dumping them at the site.

Heroin seized from duo: A Kuwaiti citizen and a Bedoun man were arrested in Riqqa area in possession of heroin, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling the area when they noticed a vehicle with two occupants committing a traffic violation. They stopped the vehicle to issue a citation and inspected it to find heroin and drug paraphernalia. The suspects were arrested and referred with the illicit items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal measures.

Woman in suicide bid: A Sri Lankan woman tried to commit suicide by jumping from the first floor of her sponsor’s house in Al-Qasr area, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from a Kuwaiti citizen about his housemaid jumping from the first floor of his house, securitymen rushed to the location and discovered that the housemaid was still alive but had sustained serious injuries. They referred her to Jahra Hospital for treatment. A case was registered for investigations.
