KUWAIT CITY, May 9: The Ministry of Public Works announced that the total amount of water consumed (tertiary and quaternary treatment) in April reached 7,541,781 cubic meters -- 6,785,000 cubic meters of quaternary treated water and 757,781,000 cubic meters of tertiary treated water. In another development, the newspaper obtained information that the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) is currently processing eight tenders of the ministry. The agency set the dates for opening the bids in accordance with the regulations.
These bids will be referred to the ministry for review and preparation of technical recommendations, which will be submitted to the State Audit Bureau (SAB) for review, audit and approval. The ministry will then award the contract to the best bid that meets the technical specifications and requirements.
These tenders are for the removal of sand from the highways in the southern and northern parts of the country, construction of roads, bridges and rainwater drainage in new residential areas like Sabah Al-Ahmad, Khairan and Wafra, and development of the treated water system in the North and South to bring about the desired agricultural growth. Meanwhile, acting Undersecretary of the ministry Eid Al-Rashidi held a meeting with Director of Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation Ali Qasim on the sidelines of the Fifth Made in the UAE Exhibition, during which they discussed supply chain issues.
