Approval of humanitarian law committee an important step: Justice Minister

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: Kuwaiti Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Permanent National Committee for International Humanitarian Law (PCIHL), Counselor Nasser Al-Sumait, affirmed Sunday that the Arab League Ministerial Council’s unanimous approval of establishing the Permanent Arab Committee for International Humanitarian Law represents a significant achievement for joint Arab action.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Sumait commended the initiative presented by the State of Qatar and the efforts of the Arab League General Secretariat, extending his congratulations to Qatar for its pioneering role in making this milestone possible.

He stressed Kuwait’s firm support for all efforts aimed at strengthening the protection of human rights and reinforcing the principles of international humanitarian law across the Arab world.
