KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: What began as a report of a fight and assault inside an apartment led security authorities to an unexpected discovery — 20 bottles of imported liquor.
According to a security source, the Ministry of Interior's Operations Room received a report about a fight taking place inside an apartment. Security personnel were immediately dispatched to the location, where they found a Gulf national in an intoxicated condition along with several other individuals.
As part of the ensuing security procedures, and after obtaining a search warrant from the Public Prosecution, officers searched the apartment.
The search resulted in the discovery of 20 bottles of imported liquor, which were seized and confiscated. A case was subsequently registered and referred to the competent authority for further action.
The security source said legal procedures are being taken against all those involved to determine the status and responsibility of each person based on the outcome of the investigation.
The source added that the Gulf nationals and expatriates involved could face deportation procedures, depending on the findings of the investigation, while Kuwaiti citizens will be referred to the competent authority.
