The Arab Open University will host an international summit on artificial intelligence in Kuwait on November 12–13.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: The Arab Open University (AOU) announced Tuesday it will host an international summit titled "Prospects for Artificial Intelligence" on November 12-13 at its Kuwait headquarters. The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister.

AOU President Dr. Mohammad Al-Zakari stated that the summit will be opened by the presence of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, who will represent the Prime Minister, alongside His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud, Chairman of the AOU Board of Trustees. The summit is set to attract wide participation from governmental and regional entities.

Dr. Al-Zakari noted that the summit will also involve civil and private sector institutions focused on artificial intelligence, as well as a distinguished group of academics, experts, and decision-makers from both Kuwait and abroad.

An accompanying student hackathon will be held as part of the event, providing university students across Kuwait with the opportunity to showcase innovative AI projects. This initiative aims to empower young people and support Kuwait’s digital transformation, aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035.

Dr. Al-Zakari emphasized that the high-level patronage and broad participation will boost the summit’s momentum and strengthen the Arab Open University’s role as a regional hub for research and innovation.

He also highlighted Kuwait’s commitment to advancing education and scientific research, positioning the country as a regional center for innovation and knowledge.
