KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: Ahmed Anizan, international referee and rapporteur of the Referees Committee at the Kuwait Volleyball Federation, underlined the significance of organizing training and promotion programs for referees ahead of the new season.

The refresher and promotion course, which began on the 7th of this month and runs until the 18th, was inaugurated by the Federation’s Assistant Secretary Nayef Al-Khumaili at the Abdullah Al-Salem Center for Leadership Preparation in Khaldiya. International referees Ahmed Anizan and Adel Bounashi are leading the sessions.

Anizan explained that the program is designed for all referees, with ten of them advancing from the second to the first category. The course features theoretical lectures that cover in detail the latest amendments introduced by the International Volleyball Federation, ensuring referees remain up to date with global regulations. This, he noted, will enhance refereeing standards in local competitions and prepare officials for international assignments.

He added that the initiative reflects the Federation’s and the Referees Committee’s commitment to developing referees and strengthening the overall framework of the sport in Kuwait.

Anizan expressed his appreciation to the Federation’s Board of Directors and the Public Authority for Sport for supporting such programs, which he said contribute to raising the quality of volleyball competitions. He also wished the participants success, encouraging them to gain maximum benefit from the course.
