Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

LOS ANGELES, Nov 16, (Agencies): In her second year at Spelman College, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has taken a significant step by joining a sorority. A video posted on Instagram captures the 18-year-old dancing on stage during the initiation ceremony for the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, the first historically African-American intercollegiate sorority.

The Instagram post from the magazine celebrates Zahara's initiation into the AKA Sorority, noting, "Ivies Up! The first Black sorority just gained a very familiar face as a member." The congratulatory message recognizes Zahara's noteworthy achievement at Spelman College.

The AKA Sorority boasts a distinguished membership that includes prominent figures like film director Ava DuVernay, Vice President Kamala Harris, civil rights icon Rosa Parks, author Toni Morrison, journalist Robin Roberts, and actress Jada Pinkett-Smith.

During the initiation ceremony, Zahara proudly shouts out her name, origin (Los Angeles, California), and then identifies herself as an AKA sister, holding the honorable position of No. 7 in the line of new initiates into the sorority.

Zahara is one of six children shared by Pitt and Jolie, including Maddox Chivan (22), Shiloh Nouvel (17), Pax Thien (19), and twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline (15). Maddox was adopted from Cambodia, Zahara from Ethiopia, and Pax from Vietnam.
