KUWAIT CITY, Jun 24: His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday during an official visit to Kuwait, where the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations and reviewed key regional and international developments.
During the meeting, Rubio conveyed the greetings and appreciation of US President Donald Trump to the Kuwaiti leader, along with his wishes for continued health and prosperity for Kuwait and its people.
His Highness the Amir reciprocated by extending his greetings to President Trump and expressing his wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the United States and its people.
The discussions focused on the longstanding strategic partnership between Kuwait and the United States, with both sides reviewing ways to further enhance cooperation across various sectors in a manner that serves the interests of both countries.
The meeting also addressed the latest regional and international developments, with particular emphasis on the situation in the Middle East. The two sides reviewed ongoing efforts aimed at promoting security, stability and peace across the region amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
The meeting was attended by several senior Kuwaiti officials, including Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and other senior representatives from the Amiri Diwan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Rubio's visit comes as Kuwait and the United States continue close coordination on regional security issues and efforts to maintain stability in the Gulf and the wider Middle East.
