Amir receives Kuwait Club after historic Challenge League victory

KUWAIT CITY, June 23 (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Tuesday, in the presence of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma, Kuwait Football Association President Sheikh Ahmad Yusuf Al-Sabah, Kuwait Club Chairman Khaled Al-Ghanem, along with board members and players of Kuwait Club.

The reception was held to mark Kuwait Club’s victory in the AFC Challenge League title.

His Highness the Amir congratulated the team on the achievement and praised their outstanding performance in the final, which secured the continental crown. He emphasized the importance of continued effort and teamwork to achieve further sporting success, wishing the club continued progress and greater contributions to Kuwaiti sports at regional and international levels.

The attendees expressed their appreciation for His Highness’ continued support and encouragement, noting that it serves as a strong motivation to achieve further accomplishments and enhance Kuwait’s sporting presence regionally and internationally.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Director of His Highness the Amir’s Office retired Lt. Gen. Jamal Al-Theyab, Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Abdulaziz Meshal Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs at the Amiri Diwan Mazen Issa Al-Issa.

In a separate reception on the same day, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also received Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma, Kuwait Football Association President Sheikh Ahmad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Kuwait Club Chairman Khaled Al-Ghanem, board members, and players of Kuwait Club.

The Crown Prince congratulated the team on winning the AFC Challenge League title, describing the achievement as a valuable addition to Kuwait’s sporting record and to Kuwait Club in particular.

He praised the efforts of the technical and administrative staff and players, urging them to continue striving to raise Kuwait’s flag in regional and international competitions.

For their part, the attendees expressed their gratitude for the reception, affirming that continued leadership support serves as a strong incentive to achieve further success.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of the Crown Prince’s Diwan Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and senior officials.
