Amir of Kuwait receives the Chinese Vice President

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2 : His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Sunday Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and his accompanying delegation, on the occasion of his official visit to the country. The deep-rooted historical relations between the State of Kuwait and the friendly People’s Republic of China were touched on, as well as the latest regional and global developments. The meeting was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works and Head of the accompanying delegation of honor, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Director of the Office of His Highness the Amir, Retired Lieutenant General Jamal Al- Dhiyab, Undersecretary for Foreign ffairs at the Amiri Diwan, Mazen Al- Issa, and the Ambassador of Kuwait to China, Jassim Al-Najem.

Also, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received on Sunday Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on the occasion of his official visit to the country. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Abdulaziz Al-Dakheel, the Minister of Public Works and Head of the accompanying delegation of honor, Dr. Noura Al- Mashaan, the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Mashari, the Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, Ambassador Sameeh Jawhar Hayat, and the Ambassador of Kuwait to China, Jassim Al-Najem

Meanwhile, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng held an official round of talks on Sunday. During the talks, the deep-rooted historical relations between the State of Kuwait and the friendly People’s Republic of China were touched on, along with ways to develop and enhance the existing partnership at all levels in a manner that serves the common interests of the two countries and the friendly peoples.

The Kuwaiti side included the Head of the Crown Prince’s Diwan, Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Al- Yahya, Minister of Public Works and Head of the accompanying delegation of honor, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Abdullatif Al-Mashari, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Dr. Subeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Managing Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority, Sheikh Saud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, and senior officials.

The Chinese delegation included Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, Wang Changlin, the Vice Minister of Transport, Xu Chengguang, the Chinese government’s special envoy for the Middle East issue, Zhai Jun, and the Assistant Minister of Commerce, Yuan Xiaoming. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah held a banquet in honor of the visiting Chinese Deputy President Han Zheng and his accompanying delegation. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah received on Sunday Chinese Deputy President Han Zheng and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of his official visit to the country.

The reception ceremony began with the national anthems of both countries. The Chinese delegation included Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, Wang Changlin, the Vice Minister of Transport, Xu Chengguang, the Chinese government’s special envoy for the Middle East issue, Zhai Jun, and the Assistant Minister of Commerce, Yuan Xiaoming.
