KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: Kuwait Club maintained its dominance in domestic competitions, achieving another historic milestone by claiming the Amir Cup title with a 2-0 victory over Al-Arabi in the final held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
With this win, “Al-Abyad” secured a historic quadruple – the club’s second ever – becoming the first team to reach such a milestone. They also lifted their fourth cup in the competition’s history and claimed their 17th overall title, drawing level with Al-Qadsia and surpassing Al-Arabi, which has 16 titles.
This success is no accident. It reflects the club’s relentless effort, starting with the board’s unwavering support, strategic signings of talented local and professional players, and the dedication of technical, administrative, and medical teams to maintain high performance throughout the season.
Club President Khaled Al-Ghanem described the victory as the result of a “tremendous effort,” emphasizing that the Kuwait Club’s rightful place is on the winners’ podium. He praised the players’ commitment and thanked all staff, while expressing pride in securing the “most precious cup.” He also highlighted the contributions of honorary president Marzouq Al-Ghanem, former golden president Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, and his brother Fahad Al-Ghanem, whom he called “the architect of Kuwait’s generation.”
Deputy Head of the Football Department, Adel Aqla, expressed his joy at winning this prestigious title and extended his thanks to the fans for their continuous support. Montenegrin coach Nebojsa Jovovic confirmed that the team fully achieved its objectives this season, stating that Kuwait deserved the title. He thanked the board, technical staff, medical team, and players for their hard work throughout the season.
Goalkeeper Saud Al-Houshan, who was named Man of the Match and received the award from Zain, said the quadruple triumph reflected “relentless effort.” He added, “The season is still in its early stages, and we have several more titles to aim for and defend this year.”
