Amir congratulates Qatar on Asia Cup win

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 2, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Friday sent a cable to Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to congratulate him on Qatar’s football national team’s winning of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 which was hosted by the United Arab Emirates.
In his cable, His Highness the Amir hailed the outstanding performance of the Qatari team during the competition which qualified it to grab the trophy.
His Highness the Amir also lauded the great spirit of all the participating teams. He described Qatar’s win as a victory for Gulf and Arab football and an embodiment of the high level it reached.
His Highness the Amir also expressed appreciation for the United Arab Emirates’ preparations and its employment of all potentials to render the championship a real success which helped materialize its aspired noble goals. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable to Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to congratulate him on the winning of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 held in the UAE.
His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent a similar congratulatory cable to the Qatari Amir. His Highness the Amir also sent a cable of congratulations to UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to congratulate him on the successful hosting of the 17th AFC Asian Cup that concluded earlier Friday. He praised the great efforts exerted by the authorities in sisterly UAE to set the stage for the Asian youth to meet at this championship and realize the desired targets of sports.
His Highness the Amir also commended the fair play and high spirit of sports that featured the matches and provided a great joy to lovers of football inside and outside Asia. He expressed best wishes for President Khalifa bin Zayed and the people of sisterly UAE. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al- Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables of congratulations to UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
