COTABATO CITY, Philippines, Oct 13, (Agencies): Authorities are encountering a baffling roadblock in their investigation of the ambush that claimed the life of a Saudi man in Shariff Aguak town, Maguindanao del Sur, on the night of Oct 10.
The victim, identified as 50-year-old Saudi national Solayman Jamal, was on his way home to Datu Piang town, accompanied by his wife, Bainot, when the ambush tragically unfolded. In the wake of the attack, Bainot sustained injuries and is presently undergoing medical treatment in a hospital.
According to the police report, at least two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle orchestrated the gun attack. Major Haron Macabanding, the Shariff Aguak police chief, disclosed that the Jamals were traveling in a white Ford Ranger bearing the license plate NER-6511. Their journey took them from a village in Datu Hoffer town, Maguindanao del Sur, en route to Datu Piang town, where the fateful ambush occurred. Solayman, who was at the wheel, tragically lost his life at the scene, while Bainot was swiftly transported to a medical facility for treatment.
