KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29 : India's Ambassador to Kuwait, Pramita Tripathi, celebrated the "deep historical, human, and economic ties" binding India and Kuwait during a Republic Day reception marking the 77th anniversary of India's constitution.

In her speech, Ambassador Tripathi thanked His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah for their unwavering support in advancing bilateral cooperation.

The event drew top Kuwaiti dignitaries, including Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy; Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem; Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Sameeh Jawhar Hayat; and Ministry of Defense Undersecretary Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Sabah, alongside senior officials and diplomats.

Tripathi highlighted centuries-old trade and people-to-people links predating Kuwait's oil era. She noted the relationship's elevation to a strategic partnership during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's December 2024 visit.

India's 1950 constitution, she said, embodies values of justice, freedom, equality, and brotherhood—guiding the nation's push toward a "progressive India by 2047."

As one of the world's fastest-growing economies and now the fourth largest globally, India aims to rank third by 2030, opening doors for deeper Kuwaiti partnerships. Indian firms thrive in Kuwait's infrastructure, energy, and services sectors, while Kuwaiti investments grow in India's manufacturing, logistics, and clean energy fields.

The ambassador praised Kuwait's over one-million-strong Indian expatriate community—the largest resident group—as a "vital bridge" between the nations. She expressed gratitude for Kuwait's support for their welfare.

Tripathi reaffirmed India's commitment to bolstering the strategic partnership for mutual progress and prosperity.
