KUWAIT CITY, March 28: The Ambassador of India to Kuwait, HE Dr. Adarsh Swaika, hosted a ‘Ramadan Ghabqa’ at India House on March 27, (Wednesday) to celebrate the festive spirit of the holy month of Ramadan with friends of India in Kuwait, including members of the diplomatic corps and the Indian community.

During the event, the ambassador conveyed heartfelt Ramadan Mubarak greetings to all attendees and well-wishers in Kuwait. The gathering featured an exquisite blend of Indian culture, music, and cuisine. Indian classical music on sitar, table, and flute filled the air, creating a special atmosphere. The culinary experience was enhanced by an eclectic menu of Indian dishes popular during the Ramadan month in India. Ramadan holds a significant place in India, a country known for its rich tapestry of diverse religions and cultures, and home to the world’s second-largest Muslim population.

Throughout India, Ramadan is celebrated with streets adorned with lights, delicious delicacies sold in markets, and people of all faiths exchanging greetings with each other. The month of Ramadan in India showcases the vibrant mosaic of the country, highlighting its ethos of unity in diversity, where individuals from various socio-cultural and religious backgrounds coexist harmoniously. In Kuwait, the tradition of hosting ‘Ghabqa’ during Ramadan is also observed by several Indian community associations, reflecting the deep cultural and people-to-people ties between India and Kuwait. The ambassador’s Ramadan Ghabqa was attended by Kuwaiti dignitaries, including ministers, senior government officials, ambassadors, and High Commissioners of various countries, as well as distinguished members of the Indian community.
