The Ambassador of Argentina with a number of ambassadors during the event
KUWAIT CITY, June 23: Ambassador of Argentina to Kuwait Ramiro Velloso affirmed that football is considered a universal language that unites people and transcends the boundaries of athletic competition, praising the love and support that the national team of his country enjoys among Kuwaiti fans.
Speaking at the World Cup viewing event organized by the embassy at VOX Cinemas in The Avenues Mall, Velloso pointed out that the large turnout, which included ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, Kuwaiti public figures and members of the Argentinian community, confirms the role of sports in bringing societies closer together and strengthening the values of understanding and cooperation. He expressed his appreciation for the love and support that Kuwaitis give to Argentina and its national team, emphasizing that such emotions contribute to strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries. He disclosed that the embassy planned this event for some time, anticipating the participation of more than 250 people.
He clarified that the objectives of the event include enjoying the sporting atmosphere, celebrating the World Cup, and supporting the Argentine national team. He added that the love for Argentina is not limited to Kuwaiti fans, as it extends to many expatriate communities in Kuwait, including the Indians, particularly those from Kerala who are keen on following and supporting the Argentine national team. He stressed that the Kuwaiti society has great passion for football, just like the Argentinians, asserting that this occasion is not just a gathering to watch a football match, but an opportunity to celebrate friendship and close ties between peoples.
