KUWAIT CITY, May 19: Director of the Slaughterhouses Department in the Control and Inspection Sector at the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) Mohammad Al-Salem confirmed that all authorized slaughterhouses are fully prepared to operate throughout the Eid Al-Adha holiday. Al-Salem revealed that the authorized central slaughterhouses include those in the Capital, Ahmadi, Jahra and Farwaniya governorates, in addition to the temporary slaughterhouse in Sabah Al-Ahmad City, which is affiliated with the cooperative society in the city in order to meet the needs of those residing in the southern part of the country.

He said PAFN completed the health, regulatory and precautionary requirements, as well as the provision of sufficient veterinarians and technical teams to receive sacrificial animals from the first hours of Eid until the last day to ensure their safety and compliance with the standards. He stated that the working hours on the first day of Eid will start after the Eid prayer and will continue until 6:00 pm, and that on the second day of Eid, working hours will be from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. He indicated that operations will stop every six hours to sanitize the halls and guarantee the readiness to receive new batches of sacrificial animals. He praised the Ministry of Interior for its cooperation in organizing traffic and security in the central and temporary slaughterhouses, as well as supporting investors under the slaughterhouse management system.
