‘Ali Baba’ nabbed; Wanted US citizen held

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: The Abu Halifa police have arrested a bedoun a.k.a. Ali Baba, for breaking into homes, cars, robbing people and armed robberies, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting security sources said the suspect was arrested by a special task force which was formed to arrest the suspect after the authorities received several complaints. At the time of arrest the suspect was in possession of 10 smart phones. During interrogation the suspect has admitted to committing more than 200 thefts and spending money on drugs.

Fraudster held: Patrolmen have arrested a 50-year-old Kuwaiti who was wanted by law in connection with a KD 113,000 fraud, reports Al- Rai daily. He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department. Meanwhile, during a security campaign in the Ahmadi governorate, police have arrested 19 beggars and referred them to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Anba daily The suspects have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Wanted US citizen held: A US citizen in his early 40s was arrested in Salhiya area by security operatives after they discovered he was dodging 15 years jail sentence. A security source said patrolmen on a round of the area upon the directives of Capital Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah spotted the US citizen inside a vehicle parked in a suspicious manner and approached him for checking. It was then they discovered that 15 years imprisonment sentence had been issued in absentia against him. He was referred to the relevant authority.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested at Green Island by security operatives in connection with KD 19,000 case. And, a Bedoun was nabbed in Rawda area for theft alongside a 29- year old citizen apprehended in Abdullah Al-Salem area for a civilian case involving KD 440.
