KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: Al-Yarmouk delivered a crushing performance against its guest Al-Shamiya, claiming a resounding 7–1 victory at Abdullah Al-Khalifa Stadium, as part of the ninth round of the Zain First Division League. In the same round, Al-Jazeera secured a narrow 3–2 win over Sporty at Al-Sahel Stadium.
Al-Yarmouk continued its strong run of form, recording another win and adding valuable points as they press on with its bid to return to the Premier League. The emphatic victory lifted Al-Yarmouk’s tally to 21 points, while Al-Shamiya remained stuck on three.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Al-Jazeera kept up its positive momentum, staying in contention with the leading teams and strengthening its push for one of the two promotion spots to the top flight. Al-Jazeera moved up to 17 points, while Sporty endured another setback and remained at the bottom of the standings without a point.
