KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Athletes of Kuwait's Al-Tomooh Sport Club won four gold medals and one silver on Saturday, the second day of the Czech International Para Athletics Championship. They pushed their tally of medals to six gold, two silver and one bronze. Hanin Al-Mesbah led the 100 m. and 400 m. female races of T20 category while Fahad Al-Selili claimed the title of the 100 m. male race pf the same category. Hassan Samir won the gold medal of the 1,500 m. race of T36 category while Abdullah Salmin won the silver medal of 100 m. race of T20 category.

Speaking to KUNA by phone this evening, Al-Mesbah who previously won a third gold, voiced joy for being to the podium three times at this championship. She noted that the three golds will give her a great encouragement ahead of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.

She dedicated the victories at the championships to the leadership and people of Kuwait, the sports authorities and Al-Tomooh club. On her part, Seddiqa Al-Ansari, secretary-general of Al-Tomooh Sport Club and head of Kuwait mission to the international event, applauded the performance of the Kuwaiti athletes, which drew praise from everybody at the event. The International Para Athletics Championships, organized by the Czech Paralympic Committee in Ostrava city, northeast the Czech Republic, on June 8-11, gathered 150 athletes from 12 countries. (KUNA)
