KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Al-Tadamon secured its place in next season’s Premier League after earning a 1-1 draw against Al-Nasr in the second round of the relegation group at Al-Sadaqa and Al-Salam Stadium.

The Farwaniya club moved to 22 points at the top of the standings, while Al-Nasr reached 20 points in second place.

In the other match of the round, Al-Shabab suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to Al-Jahra at Thamer Stadium. Despite the victory, Al-Jahra’s relegation to the First Division had already been confirmed, while Al-Shabab remained on 18 points in third place.

With only one round remaining, the battle to avoid relegation is now between Al-Nasr and Al-Shabab.

The final round, scheduled for next Friday, will see Al-Tadamon take on Al-Shabab, while Al-Nasr faces Al-Jahra.

Al-Shabab must defeat Al-Tadamon and hope Al-Nasr loses to Al-Jahra to secure survival. Al-Nasr, meanwhile, needs just a single point to guarantee its place in the Premier League next season.

Al-Tadamon goalkeeper Abdulrahman Ajaj expressed his delight after the team secured safety, praising the players and coaching staff for their efforts throughout the campaign.

Commenting on reports linking him with a move to Al-Arabi, Ajaj said the club’s supporters deserve nothing less than his best and that he hopes to help achieve their ambitions in the future.
