Al-Otaibi crowns Al-Sulaibikhat with tournament title.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 1: Al-Sulaibikhat Club won the inaugural Youth Boxing Tournament, held at the Kuwait Boxing Federation’s hall in Sabah Al-Salem. Al-Nasr finished second, with Qadsia third, as the tournament showcased several promising young talents.

Al-Sulaibikhat’s gold medalists were Basel Mohammed, Athbi Jassem, Ali Abbas, Turki Eid and Ahmed Naji. Al-Nasr’s gold medalists were Abdulrazzaq Mohammed, Mohammed Suwaid, and Nasser Sulaiman, while Mohammed Faheed, Abbas Hassan, and Barak Meshaal won gold for Qadsia.

Kuwait Boxing Federation President Abdullah Khaled Al-Otaibi presented the winners with their medals and congratulated the clubs and boxers on their performances. He praised the young competitors' technical level and the skills they displayed, saying they offered encouraging signs for the future of Kuwaiti boxing.

Al-Otaibi highlighted the importance of youth tournaments in identifying talent and developing athletes from an early age, helping build a new generation that can represent Kuwait and succeed in future competitions.

He also praised the participation of female referees at the tournament, describing it as an important step in strengthening women’s role in Kuwaiti sport. He said their involvement showed they could officiate bouts efficiently and professionally, while stressing the need to support female officials and give them opportunities at local and international competitions.
