EL ALAMEIN, Egypt, Aug 22: Al-Sulaibikhat Club’s judo team claimed first place overall at the Arab Open Judo Championship in El Alamein, Egypt, after a dominant performance throughout the tournament.
The Kuwaiti club produced an impressive medal haul of 26 gold, six silver, and six bronze medals, underlining its dominance across the various competitions and securing the top spot in the overall standings.
The achievement adds to Al-Sulaibikhat’s growing list of successes in judo and further enhances the club’s reputation at Arab competitions.
Al-Sulaibikhat Sports Club Secretary Nasser Mansi Al-Anzi said the achievement was the result of sustained hard work and dedication from the players, technical and administrative staff, as well as the continued support of the club’s board.
Mansi said the latest triumph adds to a long series of achievements by Al-Sulaibikhat’s judo teams across different levels and age groups. He praised the athletes for consistently producing strong performances and achieving impressive results at various championships.
He also reaffirmed the board’s commitment to supporting judo, describing it as one of the club’s most successful sports. He praised the players and coaching and administrative staff for their efforts in maintaining the team’s winning tradition and representing both the club and Kuwaiti sport with distinction.
Gold: Bader Nasser Mansi, Omar Al-Anzi, Fahd Al-Anzi, Waleed Al-Dhafeeri, Abdulaziz Al-Huraigi, Bader Al-Shammari, Muath Al-Anzi, Saud Al-Shammari, Khaled Al-Rashidi, Saud Al-Anzi, Muhanna Al-Hajri, Jassim Kamal, Talal Al-Saba, Osama Al-Anzi, Fahd Mubarak and Abduljalil Al-Shammari.
Silver: Sultan Nasser Mansi, Fahd Al-Anzi, Muhammad Ali, Saud Al-Rahili, Barjas Al-Shammari, Abdulwahab Al-Shammari and Saleh Al-Obaidan.
Bronze: Ghaith Al-Badhali, Saif Al-Ali, Musab Al-Shammari, Barak Al-Shammari, Yahya Al-Dhaian, Samir Mahmoud, Ahmed Al-Anzi, Harith Al-Shammari and Musa Al-Dhaian.
