KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: Al-Qadsia will take on Al-Sulaibikhat at 5:30 pm today in the sixth round of the General Volleyball League, held at the Federation Hall in the Sheikh Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. Later, at 7:30 pm, Al-Shabab faces Al-Arabi in another key match.

Currently, Kuwait Club leads the standings with 14 points, followed by Al-Arabi in second with 13 points, Al-Sulaibikhat in third with 11 points, and Al-Qadsia in fourth with 10 points. Kazma holds fifth with 8 points, Al-Shabab is sixth with 6 points, Burgan seventh with 4 points, Al-Yarmouk eighth with 3 points, Al-Nasr ninth, and Al-Sahel sits at the bottom without points.

While the Al-Arabi vs. Al-Shabab match favors the “Greens,” the highlight of the day is expected to be the Al-Sulaibikhat vs. Al-Qadsia clash. With only one point separating the third-placed Al-Sulaibikhat from fourth-placed Al-Qadsia, the encounter promises intensity and excitement.

Al-Sulaibikhat has had its strongest league start in years, winning all four of its matches against Al-Nasr, Al-Yarmouk, Al-Arabi, and Kazma, establishing itself as a serious title contender this season. A victory today would mean it has defeated all top teams except Kuwait Club, which it will face on the 8th of this month.

Al-Qadsia, meanwhile, has won three of its four matches, losing only to Kuwait Club. A win today could see it level with Al-Arabi in second place if the latter falters in its Ahmadi match.
