KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Al-Shabab put the brakes on Kazma’s winning run, earning a 1-1 draw in their Zain Premier League Round 6 clash at Al-Sadaqa and Al-Salam Stadium.
Nasser Faleh opened the scoring for Kazma before Marcos Arthur equalized for Al-Shabab to secure a valuable point for his team.
The result lifted Kazma to 10 points, while Al-Shabab moved up to 8 points. Kazma recorded its first draw of the season after two wins, while Al-Shabab has now registered two wins, two draws, and two losses.
The draw also halted Kazma’s momentum following its impressive victory over Qadsia in the previous round.
In another match from the same round, Al-Jahra edged Al-Nasr 1-0 at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium, with Talal Al-Ajmi scoring the decisive goal.
The victory raised Al-Jahra’s tally to 7 points, while Al-Nasr remains without a single point after six straight defeats, keeping them at the bottom of the table.
The ongoing slump has placed Tunisian coach Jameel Belkassem under growing pressure, with Al-Nasr now the leading candidate for relegation to the First Division. The team sits four points behind ninth-placed Al-Tadamon and six points adrift of eighth-placed Al-Fahaheel, both of whom have one game in hand.
This round saw the postponement of matches involving the top two teams — Kuwait Club (13 points) and Al-Arabi (11 points) — after the Competitions Committee decided to delay Al-Arabi’s match against Al-Tadamon and Kuwait Club’s match against Al-Fahaheel due to their participation in the AFC Challenge League.
