KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Al-Shabab secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Al-Nasr in the third round of the Kuwait Premier League (Zain League) on Monday. Despite being reduced to ten men after Mohammed Al-Qabandi was sent off in the 74th minute, the home side held firm defensively and struck on the counterattack. Abdullah Al-Otaibi scored the decisive goal in the 90th minute to give Al-Shabab all three points. The win moved them to sixth place with four points, while Al-Nasr remains winless at the bottom of the table.
Meanwhile, Al-Salmiya edged past Al-Tadhamon 1-0 at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium. Ahmed Hussein netted the lone goal in the 46th minute of added time in the first half, securing a vital victory. Al-Salmiya now sits fourth with six points, while Al-Tadhamon stays eighth with just one point.
