KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: Khaled Al-Sayer, CEO of Al Rai International Advertising Company, has been appointed director of the Saudi Super Cup, which will be held in Kuwait in December.

The appointment was made by a partnership between Al Rai Media Group and Aayan Leasing and Investment Company, which will host the tournament under an agreement signed last Monday with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation through its exclusive commercial partner, SMC Vibes — Saudi Wasayel Group.

Wael Al-Qatami, Aayan’s deputy head of operations, has been appointed deputy director.

The appointments mark the start of organizational, technical, and operational preparations for the 13th edition of the Saudi Super Cup, which will be held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and feature Al-Nassr, Al-Kholoud, Al-Ahli, and Al-Qadsiah.

Al-Sayer said preparations began immediately after the hosting agreement was announced, with work already underway on organizational structures, the distribution of responsibilities, and plans covering the various aspects of the tournament.

The first major milestone will be the tournament draw, scheduled for Oct. 14 in Kuwait, which will determine the two semifinal matchups.

Al-Sayer added that teams are being formed to handle the tournament’s organizational, administrative, media, marketing, and logistical operations. He said the process is nearing completion, with the teams set to begin work according to an integrated plan and timetable leading up to the tournament.
