KUWAIT CLUB, April 9: In a decisive match held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex, Kuwait Club secured a significant victory over Al-Salmiya, ending their unbeaten run with a commanding 37-24 victory in the league's ninth round. Concurrently, Kazma beat 25-20 in the same venue.
Despite the loss, Al-Salmiya maintains its lead in the standings with 15 points from nine matches. –Kuwait Club follows closely in second place with 14 points from eight matches, tied with Kazma in third place (with goal difference favoring "Al-Abyad"). Al-Arabi sits in fourth place with 12 points, followed by Al-Sulaibkhat and Al-Qadisiya in fifth and sixth place, respectively, both with nine points. Meanwhile, Al-Fahaheel and Burgan share eighth place with eight points each, followed by Al-Qurain with seven points, and Al-Nasr and Yarmouk with five points each. Khaitan occupies the penultimate spot with four points, while Al-Sahel and Al-Tadamon trail without scoring.
The ninth round concluded with matches between Al-Yarmouk and Al-Nasr, as well as Al-Arabi against Al-Qadisiya. The upcoming ninth round, commencing next Saturday, will witness three matches, featuring Al-Nasr against Al-Sahel, Al-Qurain against Al-Arabi, and Al-Tadamon against Al-Salmiya.
The recent victory of "Al-Ameed" over "Al-Samawi" injected new energy into the league, intensifying the competition among the leading teams. As the battle for supremacy heats up, every point becomes crucial in the pursuit of the league title. The forthcoming rounds will be pivotal in narrowing the points gap among the top six teams.
In other news, our national youth handball team is gearing up to participate in the upcoming Gulf Games in Sharjah from April 19 to 24. Additionally, our national youth team is set to compete in the Arab Championship, scheduled to commence in Morocco on the 20th of this month.
