KUWAIT CITY, July 6: Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi, owner of Al-Rayah Stud Farm and representative of sponsors of Purebred Arabian horse races featuring Egyptian bloodlines, hailed the success of the inaugural 2025-2026 season held at the Hunting and Equestrian Club's racecourse, crediting the strong backing of breeders and owners of Egyptian-bloodline Arabian horses.
Al-Roumi thanked the Hunting and Equestrian Club, led by Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad, along with the Higher Horse Racing Committee and the club's management, for their continued support of equestrian sport and horse racing. He also expressed appreciation to farm and stud owners who have pledged to sponsor the 2026-2027 season, with one sponsored trophy race scheduled each week.
He announced that three sponsor horse auctions will be held before the start of the new season, with three special trophies to be awarded during the April races.
More than KD 50,000 has been allocated in prize money for the season's winners, with cash prizes accompanying each weekly trophy race. The season will conclude with the prestigious Champions Cup, offering a top prize of KD 5,000.
Sheikh Sabah Fahad Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Higher Horse Racing Committee and Secretary-General of the Hunting and Equestrian Club, said the club is fully prepared to host the 2026-2027 season, which is expected to feature intense competition among horse racing enthusiasts.
He added that the new season's calendar includes 23 races, bringing together competitors from all stables and racing colors, with one race staged every week.
