KUWAIT CITY, July 1: In a move highlighting strong internal support within Qadsia Club, businessman Ahmed Abdullah Al-Raddaan has pledged financial backing of 30,000 Kuwaiti dinars to support an initiative led by club supporter and businessman Fahd Abdulrahman Al-Bakr aimed at investing in the club’s handball program.
The initiative follows Al-Bakr’s official submission to the Qadsia Board of Directors, in which he expressed his intention to take over the management and investment of the handball sector through a comprehensive project. The proposal seeks to rebuild Qadsia’s handball team and restore its competitive standing through a professional administrative and technical structure focused on sustainability and long-term development.
Al-Raddaan’s contribution represents the first formal show of support for the project, underlining growing belief among Qadsia affiliates in the importance of sports investment and private-sector partnership in advancing team sports and creating a more stable development environment.
The initiative has drawn considerable attention within the Qadsia community, with many viewing it as a potential turning point for the club’s handball future. The project aims to introduce an institutional investment model that can return the team to its former prominence and championship-winning ways, in line with the club’s rich history and supporters’ ambitions.
The development comes after Qadsia announced the suspension of its first handball team next season, with a renewed focus on youth development programs.
