Swooping Eagles bounced back
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: After the hecticpractice and preparation before and after the GCC-AFBT in Abu Dhabi, UAE,Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait concentrated in its new tenpintournament dubbed 2018 Elite Challenge Cup. Nine teams joined with variousnationalities were member-players. In the third week of the elimination roundheld at COZMO Entertainment and Bowling Center in Kheifan, the teams thatregistered victory were Al Qwassem All-Stars, Lolo’s Bowlers, Swooping Eaglesand TGIF while UNIMONI Exchange played bye.
Fully charge Al Qwassem Strikers registered their second victory that shocked the top rank COZMO Lane Masters 2,891-2,753. In the first game, COZMO convincingly sidelined Al Qwassem Strikers with the score of 1,049-922. But in the second and third games the All Stars retaliated with the scores of 945-821 and 999-883. Yousef Al Qassem (583) piloted his team victory assisted by Hassan Al Qassem (547), Saleh Faraj (460), Mariam Fahad Al Zaid (397) and Ali Jawli (391) while COZMO top scorer was Lito Michael (541), Ronnell Valencia (512), Bader Malalah (496), Noe Mahayag (496) and Ibrahim Al Dubayan (491). With the win-lose record, although Al Qassem won the game still they are in the seventh spot while COZMO remain holding the prime position.
TGIF Strikers posted their second win when they outsmarted the Green Apples 2,806-2,748. In the first two games TGIF showed their dominion when they outscored the Green Apples 940-899, 945-873 but with the “do or die” aphorism of the later survived the swept and down the TGIF 976-896. The high pointer of the winning team was Moises Amahan (530) followed by Rene Marzan (463), Joel Tizon (317), Mar Evangelista (304), Pilar Patula (301), Sam Behbehani (240) and Eddie Pena (137) while the losing team top scorer was Jess Tolentino (500) assisted by Mohammad Othman (384), Jhon Narvasa (304), Adolfo Prena (298), Neng Cervantes (279), Alex Cervantes (266) and Jocelyn Barros (206).
The Swooping Eagles playing with 4-man team bounced back after its grey second week performance when they outlasted the one of the tail-ender Pin Pals after their three game series 2,668- 2,565. The Eagles won the first and third games 891-841, 918-850 while Pin Pals got the second game 874-834. But the win did not help the Eagles to surge but instead plunge from third to sixth spot while Pin Pals move one step forward. The bowlers were Jessica Balagat (463), Danny Solis (449), Clinton Cathers (435) and Mona Corpuz (406) while Pin Pals pin busters were Avinash Mathew (425), Allan Fernanades (421), Agnello Fernandes (411), Neeta Fernandes (378) and Raj Reddy (359).
Finally, after losing the second week assignment Lolo’s Strikers turned its ire to SKARZ team but won only the first game (921-827) and third game (1,024-859) while Skarz won the second game (924-837). Lolo’s top scorer was Rocky Castil (492), Abel Nitikusumo (453), Bima Nitikudumo (419), Reygan Percy (267), Imelda Daguio (122) and Leila Cervantes (111) while SKARZ team high pointer was Lionel Mendes (478), Stephen Sequiera (273), Kathy Fernandes (232), Eden Danan (228), Amaldo Fernandes (213), Melwin Isaac (149) and Fatima Fernanades (124). UNIMONI Exchange played bye and the bowlers were Rashid Ali (567), Fadi Al Masri (565), Feras Al Muhareb (518) and Rudy de Lima (491).
