DOHA, Nov 26: Knight Al-Qaqaa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani secured the top position in the second preliminary rounds held during the concluding day of the initial stages of the Al Shaqab International Show Jumping League Championship.

This victory earned Al-Qaqaa a spot in the finals of the International Federation for Equestrian Championship, Group 7, for the cubs, juniors, and youth categories. The championship, organized by Al Shaqab under the auspices of the Qatar Foundation, unfolds throughout the year and recently took place at the Longines Indoor Arena in Al Shaqab.

Al-Qaqaa, astride the horse “Gritje WS,” clinched the first-place position in the round set at a height of 60, completing the course in an impressive time of 59.72 seconds. Ibrahim Al-Musleh secured the second position, followed by Ibrahim Al-Amin in third place.

Saif Al Nuaimi, Director of Operations at Al Shaqab, affirmed the organization’s commitment to establishing the Al Shaqab International League Championship as a distinguished platform for riders of diverse backgrounds and skill levels in show-jumping competitions. Emphasizing a focus on enhancing opportunities for women and juniors, Al Nuaimi stated that Al Shaqab aims to prepare riders to reach the pinnacle of equestrian sports, fostering confidence and sportsmanship to excel as pioneering riders.
