DOHA, Sept 30: The 35th edition of the Arab Club Basketball Championship commences in the vibrant city of Doha, Qatar. The tournament is scheduled to run until October 12th, and the Al-Qadsiya is set to kickstart its championship campaign by squaring off against Al-Fateh from Saudi Arabia at six in the evening at Al-Rayyan Hall.
The action-packed schedule also features Al-Ahly of Egypt going head-to-head against Jadla of Iraq at one in the afternoon. Following that, Al-Ittihad of Algeria will take on Al-Seeb of Oman at two in the afternoon. In a matchup at three-thirty in the afternoon, Tangier of Morocco and Beirut of Lebanon will lock horns. Later in the day, at four-thirty in the evening, Al-Ahly of Qatar will clash with Dynamo of Lebanon.
The first day of the Arab Basketball Championship for clubs will culminate with a game between Qatar and the Palestinian club Al Burij. As for the second representative of the Kuwaiti basketball team in the tournament, the defending champion Kuwaiti team will enjoy a day of rest today. Tournament matches for the Kuwaiti team will commence tomorrow with a challenging match against Bahrain's Muharraq.
The tournament's recent draw saw the participating clubs divided into four groups.
Group one includes Qatari clubs Qatar, Muharraq of Bahrain, Palestinian Al-Bureij, and Al-Kuwait. In group two, you'll find Egyptian clubs Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, Al-Seeb of Oman, Al-Ahly of Qatar, Lebanese Dynamo, and Al-Ittihad of Algeria. Group three features clubs from Al- Qadsiya, Yemen's Sanaa, Morocco's Salé, and Saudi Arabia's Al-Fateh. Finally, group four encompasses clubs from Al-Ittihad Al-Libyan, Iraqi Tigris, Moroccan Tangier, Lebanese Beirut, and Egyptian Al-Ahly.
