KUWAIT CITY, June 13: The Football Association has announced that Al-Qadisiya will represent Kuwait in the 2024 Gulf Club Cup Championship as the champion of the 2023-2024 HH Amir Cup, with Al-Salmiya Club selected as the reserve team.

The Federation previously confirmed that Kuwait SC and Al-Arabi will participate in international tournaments under the Asian Football Confederation’s umbrella for the 2024-2025 season. Kuwait SC, as the Zain Premier League champion, will compete in the AFC Champions League 2 playoffs, while Al-Arabi, the league runner-up, will participate in the group stage of the Asian Challenge Cup League.
The Gulf Club Cup competition is set to make a comeback after a nine-year hiatus. The tournament will feature eight teams, with one team from each Gulf country nominated by their respective local federations.

Al-Qadisiya has previously won the Gulf Club Cup twice, first in 2000 and again in 2005, marking the last victory for Kuwaiti teams in the tournament.
The competition will follow a group stage format, with teams divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, where the first-place team from one group will face the second-place team from the other group, and vice versa.

In May, the Executive Office of the Arabian Gulf Cup Federation approved the tournament’s return, scheduled to start on September 24, coinciding with the start of the Asian Championships. The final match is set for April 25, 2025.
Al-Shabab was the last team to win the tournament in 2015, defeating Omani side Al-Seeb on penalties (4-3).
Additionally, Al-Qadisiya has officially announced the acquisition of Salmiya players Moaz Al-Dhafiri and Athbi Shehab.
