KUWAIT CITY, Aug 11: The Al-Qadisiya Club’s handball team kicked off its training last week in preparation for the upcoming season. The club’s management has planned an external training camp in Bosnia from August 28th to September 12th. This camp will take place before the team competes in the 39th Arab Handball Clubs Championship alongside Kuwait Club the reigning champion and host, as well as Al-Salmiya Club. The championship will be held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex Hall from September 15-25. Following this, Al-Qadisiya is set to play in the quarter-final match of the Federation Cup for the 2023-2024 season on October 2nd.

Meanwhile, Al Al-Qadisiya management has renewed the contract of Croatian head coach Slavko Klosa, following the strong performance of the team last season, where it secured second place in the Premier League. It has also extended the contracts of his Macedonian assistant Ivan and Montenegrin goalkeeping coach Vlanko. Additionally, the club renewed the contract of Montenegrin professional Vladan Lipovina. During the Bosnian camp, the team will assess two potential professional players—one of Arab nationality and the other European—to determine the best fit for its squad in the Arab Championship and other local competitions.

Recently, Qadisiya strengthened its squad by signing Hamad Al-Saqr and goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Saffar on free transfers. The handball management at the "Yellow" Castle is focused on rejuvenating the first team, blending local and professional talent with promising youth players. Its goal is to build a new, competitive team that can excel in both local and international championships.
