KUWAIT CITY, April 28: The first handball team of Al-Qadisiyah Club reaffirmed its position in third place in the overall standings of the “Al-Damj” league with a commanding victory over Al-Sahel, clinching a 43-19 win in a postponed match held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex.

With this result, the team standings were reshuffled, with Kuwait Club leading with 20 points, followed closely by Al-Salmiya with 19 points. Al-Qadisiya secured the third spot with 17 points, while Kazma and Al-Arabi each accumulated 16 points. Burgan followed with 12 points, tied with Sulaibkhat and Al-Nasr at 11 points. Al-Fahaheel held eight points, while Al-Qurain and Yarmouk each possessed seven points. Khaitan trailed with four points, while Al-Sahel and Al-Tadamon languished at the bottom without a score.

During the match, Egyptian professional player Muhannad from Al-Sahel sustained a hand injury, prompting immediate medical attention. His absence is anticipated in the upcoming and final round.

With the twelfth and thirteenth rounds remaining in the league, as well as three postponed matches, the teams ranked first through sixth will qualify for the Premier League. These teams will engage in home and away matches, leveraging their first-round achievements. The remaining teams will compete in the first division.

So far, Kuwait Club, Al-Salmiya, Al-Qadisiya, Kazma, and Al-Arabi have secured qualification for the Premier League, leaving a final ticket open for Burgan, Sulaibkhat, and Al-Nasr. The twelfth-round matches are scheduled for the upcoming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
