KUWAIT CITY, Oct 26: Nasser Al-Qabandi, head of the Referees Committee at the Kuwait Boxing Federation, has praised the performances of referees in the federation’s competitions, saying their strong displays reflect the experience and expertise they have developed over recent years.

He said continued participation in various tournaments has helped referees build the skills needed to officiate effectively during the current sports season.

Al-Qabandi noted that referees had delivered solid performances in the federation’s events since the start of the season, most recently at the Youth Championship, which began last Saturday. He praised their handling of the bouts and their efforts to ensure competitions ran smoothly in line with approved rules and regulations.

He also acknowledged the support of the Kuwait Boxing Federation’s Board of Directors, headed by Abdullah Khaled Al-Otaibi, for its efforts to improve refereeing standards through training and development courses. These initiatives help enhance officials’ competence and keep them updated on changes to the sport’s rules and officiating methods.

Al-Qabandi added that the board’s commitment highlights the importance it places on the Referees Committee, a key component of the federation responsible for overseeing bouts and ensuring competitions are conducted in accordance with the rules.
