Al-Otaibi elected President of the Kuwait Boxing Federation

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 20: Abdullah Al-Otaibi, representative of Burgan Club, has been elected President of the Boxing Federation’s Board of Directors for the remainder of the current term. The election took place during the by-election held the day before yesterday, with the session chaired by the Federation’s Secretary-General, Mutlaq Al-Azmi.

Members of the General Assembly congratulated Al-Otaibi on gaining their trust and pledged full cooperation with the Board to advance the sport and support boxers at both the local and international levels.

In an exclusive statement to Al-Seyassah, Al-Otaibi expressed his sincere gratitude to the General Assembly for its confidence and endorsement. He emphasized his commitment to working closely with Board members to develop boxing in Kuwait through local competitions and to prepare the national teams for upcoming events.

He added, “The coming period requires unity and collaboration, placing the interests of boxing above all else. This will guide the Board’s agenda, leveraging the experience and dedication of its members to advance and strengthen the sport.”

Al-Otaibi concluded by assuring that work would begin immediately and extended his thanks to the Public Authority for Sport for its continued support of Kuwaiti sports in general, and boxing in particular. He also praised the clubs for their cooperation with the Board in ways that benefit both the sport and its athletes."
