Al-Osaimi dedicates Kuwait shooting success to HH Amir

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: Obaid Al-Osaimi, secretary-general of the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations, dedicated Kuwait’s latest shooting success at the Asian Games in Japan to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Prime Minister and the people of Kuwait.

Kuwait’s shooters collected five medals — two gold, one silver and two bronze — in the shooting competitions, led by Khaled Al-Mudhaf’s gold in the men’s individual trap.

Al-Mudhaf then joined Talal Al-Rashidi and Abdulrahman Al-Feihan to secure gold in the men’s team trap event.

In the women’s trap, Hajar Abdulmalek won bronze in the individual event, while Abdulmalek, Sarah Al-Hawwal and Shahed Al-Hawwal claimed bronze in the team competition.

Al-Osaimi hailed the results, saying the shooters had produced strong performances despite facing tough competition from some of Asia’s leading athletes.

He attributed the success to careful planning and continuous follow-up by the Kuwait Shooting Federation and Club, together with the efforts of the shooters and technical and administrative staff.

Al-Osaimi said the Asian Games also provide valuable preparation for the World Shooting Championships in Qatar next November, where direct qualification places for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will be at stake.

He added that the latest medals further strengthen Kuwait’s shooting record and enhance the country’s presence at major international competitions.
