Al-Nassr edges closer to Roshn League crown

RIYADH, April 30: Al-Nassr took another major step toward securing the Saudi Pro League title with a crucial 2–0 win over Al-Ahli in Round 30.

Coming just days after Al-Ahli’s back-to-back AFC Champions League Elite triumph, the defeat dealt a significant blow to coach Matthias Jaissle’s hopes of mounting a serious domestic title challenge.

Captain Cristiano Ronaldo broke the deadlock in the 76th minute, before Kingsley Coman sealed the victory with a late strike in the 90th minute.

The win lifts Al-Nassr to 79 points, opening an eight-point gap over second-placed Al-Hilal, albeit having played one game more. Al-Ahli sit third on 66 points.
