KUWAIT CITY, Oct 15: Al-Nasr Club emerged as champions of the Youth Boxing Championship after an intense battle for the title that remained undecided until the final day. Sulaibikhat finished runner-up, while Al-Qurain secured third place as the competition concluded.
Kuwait Boxing Federation Assistant Treasurer Abdulrahman Al-Tairi and Assistant Secretary Abdullah Al-Dhafiri presented the trophies and medals to the top three teams and their athletes, bringing the tournament to a close after a series of competitive bouts.
The gold medalists across the different weight categories were Athbi Jassem and Ali Abbas of Sulaibikhat; Abdulwahab Mohammed, Ali Yousuf, Adnan Ali, Abdullah Salem and Shehab Ahmed of Al-Nasr; Ahmed Salman, Saleh Mohammed and Abdullah Talal of Al-Qurain; Abbas Hussein of Qadsia; and Mishaal Musaed and Mohammed Marzouq of Sulaibikhat.
Al-Nasr coach Abdulrahman Bashir was named Best Coach in recognition of his role in leading the team to the overall title.
Al-Tairi congratulated the podium finishers and all the boxers who won medals, while wishing the other participating clubs and athletes success in their upcoming competitions.
He said the championship featured a high standard of boxing and fierce competition, with the outcome only settled on the final day. This, he noted, demonstrated the clubs' readiness and commitment to challenging for the top honours.
Al-Tairi also praised the clubs for their cooperation and continued support for boxing, saying their efforts would strengthen Kuwait's national teams, expand the talent pool, and help prepare boxers to represent the country in future international competitions.
