Al-Nasr advanced to the King’s Cup quarterfinals as Abha eliminated Al-Ahly

RIYADH, Nov 1: Al-Nasr secured their spot in the quarter-finals of Saudi King’s Cup by defeating Al-Ittifaq 1-0 in the round of 16, following a goalless draw in regular time. The victory came after two additional periods, with Senegalese player Sadio Mane scoring the lone goal in the 107th minute.
In a surprising turn of events, Abha eliminated Al-Ahly with a 2-1 victory.

The match was challenging and saw two players from Abha being sent off, forcing them to continue with only 9 players.
Ahmed Abdo made a significant impact for Abha by scoring in stoppage time, but Riyad Mahrez quickly equalized for Al-Ahly with a goal just before the first-half whistle.
Shortly after the expulsion, Ekambi netted a second goal for Abha in the 67th minute, nearly sealing the match with a third goal. However, the match referee consulted the video assistant technology and ultimately disallowed the goal.
In other matches, Al-Shabab defeated Al-Fateh 2-1, Al-Taawoun triumphed over Al-Wahda with a score of 2-0, and Al-Ittihad emerged victorious against Al-Fayhaa with a convincing 3-0 win.
