Al-Musallam secures victory in second round of Equestrian League

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: Equestrian excellence was on display as Abrar Al-Musallam, representing the Hunting and Equestrian Club, clinched the top spot in the second round of the Kuwaiti Show Jumping Equestrian League’s third edition. The event, held at the Kuwait Equestrian Center, witnessed robust participation from both male and female riders across various local clubs.

In the prestigious ninth round, the Grand Prix, featuring a challenging height of 140 cm, Abrar Al-Musallam distinguished herself by advancing to the decisive round. With an impeccable performance, she claimed the first position with a faultless run in 41.65 seconds, leaving no room for penalties. Following closely were riders Abdul Rahman Al-Fazi’, Ali Al-Kharafi, Ghazi Al-Jariwi, Antonio Moroso from Italy, and Hala Al-Mulla, with Fatima Al-Mulla also making an impressive ascent. The champions were crowned by Masoud Hayat, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Olympic Committee and the Director of the Corporate Relations Department at Zain Telecommunications Company, Hamad Al-Musaibih.

At the 130 cm height category, Aws Al-Tanak emerged as the leader, while Muhammad Al-Mulaifi claimed the top spot in the 120 cm height category.

Expressing delight at the fierce competition in the local equestrian league, Fatima Hayat highlighted the promising future of newcomers in the sport and emphasized the ongoing support of the Olympic Committee for equestrian sports across all levels.

The tournament’s refereeing committee, led by Raghad Al-Dabbous, included members Lama Abdel-Aal, Dr. Yahya Al-Hadban, and Walid Al-Jassim. Philip Schwinder designed the challenging course, with assistance from Abdulaziz Al-Ajeel, Ibtisam Al-Arouri, and Badr Al-Haifi as court referees.
