Al-Musallam and Indonesian Sports Minister Thohir at the inauguration of the new international aquatic academy.

JAKARTA, Nov 13: Captain Hussein Al-Musallam, President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), together with Indonesian Sports Minister Erick Thohir, officially inaugurated a new international aquatic academy in Indonesia, providing accommodation for nearly 160 swimmers.

The state-of-the-art academy includes facilities for swimming, diving, water polo, and synchronized swimming.

Al-Musallam praised the strong support and collaboration from Indonesia’s Ministry of Sports, highlighting that the project is one of the latest initiatives under FINA’s supervision. The academy aims to expand the reach of swimming, enhance the skills of Indonesian athletes, nurture young talent, and create a world-class sporting environment.

He also expressed gratitude to Minister Thohir for his pivotal role in bringing the ambitious project to fruition.
